Why Now, Why California

California faces a growing housing crisis. Soaring prices are pushing out low, middle, and

even high-income earners. Entry-level homes under 2,000 sq ft make up only a small

fraction of new builds today. But new laws like SB9, SB1123, SB1211, and SB684 are

opening the door for gentle density and small-scale development. That means real

opportunities to build livable, community-focused housing at attainable prices—just when

California needs it most.
